Dr. Connor Edwards -- Licensed Chiropractor
I have lived in the Denton area since about the age of 12. My family and I moved here from Benton, Louisiana. Over the years I have benefited from an excellent school system, a safe environment, and a booming area without the city feel. The Denton community is home to my family and my wife, Jaylee’s, family as well. We plan on staying here for a long time, growing together, and raising a family while serving our community with Chiropractic care.
Most of my academic career took place in Texas. I graduated from Marcus High School in Flower Mound then attended the University of North Texas in Denton for 2.5 years. After 2.5 years, I transferred to Texas Christian University on the Dean’s scholarship where I graduated with Bachelor’s in Movement Science. After undergraduate school, I committed myself to the Chiropractic profession. I enrolled at Parker University in Dallas, TX and earned the President’s scholarship.
I found Chiropractic because I began to suffer from severe low back pain starting in freshman year of high school. I soon found out that the source of my pain resulted from 4 bulging discs in my lumbar spine. I was a competitive golfer at Marcus at the time, and the pain prevented me from practicing. Eventually, I needed special medical permission to have a pushcart just so I could complete my tournament rounds. After at least a year of failed rehab with a physical therapist, daily anti-inflammatory pills, and daily pain relievers I was introduced to Chiropractic. It amazed me how by simply restoring proper motion and stability into the spine, my body began to heal, and pain began to disappear. After several weeks, I was able to play golf again, unrestricted and without any pain. I noticed that my mobility improved, my overall functional capacity had increased, and my overall performance in all sports had improved. I was able to stop taking medication and get back to playing golf. My goal is now to provide others with quality, yet affordable Chiropractic care, so that I can get patients back to doing the things they love and accomplishing their goals.
I feel truly blessed to be a part of the Chiropractic profession because I get to make a positive impact on the lives of others every day. We are raised to believe that health is merely the absence of disease, but health is much more than that. Health should be viewed on a spectrum. True health is a combination of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. There is much more to life than the absence of pain and disease. We have been blessed with bodies that are organized, dynamic, and intelligent. I believe that health comes from above down, inside out or, more simply put, health comes from within. We just have to take care of our bodies with proper fuel and motion to help it function optimally.
I would recommend Chiropractic care to anyone and everyone because the God-given power that made the body, also heals the body. Everyone has a pattern of spinal restrictions and most people have a lack of spinal stability in specific areas. Over time, our bodies develop compensatory patterns due to lack of joint motion causing poor posture, instability of surrounding joints, and improper movement patterns. By addressing these issues, we can prevent future injuries, relieve pain, and improve functional performance. It is my job to restore proper motion into restricted joints, while teaching patients how to have a healthy and stable spine. Whether your goal is to function at the top of your game, improve your quality of life, or simply just get out of pain, I can help you! Let’s get those joints moving properly, promote spinal stability, and help you achieve your life goals!
