Brooke Wright, Master Level Counseling Student, Supervised by Site
I believe I was born to be a healing helper in the lives of others. As a survivor of domestic violence and the proud mother of two extraordinary children adopted from foster care, my passion for walking alongside those in need is deeply personal. My own journey through trauma and healing inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Counseling at Lamar University, equipping me to serve individuals and families who feel lost, broken, or overwhelmed by life’s challenges.

My professional and personal experiences have provided me with a unique perspective on how trauma impacts the mind and body. Over the past ten years, I have trained educators on the healing power of music and its profound connection to trauma and coping strategies. With a background in music, I understand the importance of creativity and connection in the healing process.
As my pastor says, “Free people, free people”. This resonated deeply with me. I have seen how freedom from trauma and shame can ripple outward, transforming not only individuals but their families and communities. In my counseling practice, I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate space for my clients to explore their pain, rediscover their voice, and reclaim their shine. Whether through individual therapy, group support, or experiential approaches, I believe healing happens when we are truly seen and supported.
When I’m not counseling, I find joy in activities that nurture both body and soul—stand-up paddle-boarding, quad rollerskating, lifting heavy weights at a local boot camp, and serving on the worship and hospitality team at my church. I also write and record original music, finding inspiration in stories of resilience and hope.
If you are navigating the twists and turns of life and need someone to walk beside you, I would be honored to join you on your journey toward healing and wholeness. Together, we can uncover the strength and joy that already exist within you.
