Lisa Tarplee, Master's Level Counseling Student, Supervised by Kristi Longley
I am currently in my final year of graduate school at Liberty University. I believe the mind, body, and spirit are intricately woven together and influence one another to shape how we experience the world. With this in mind, I offer a clinically informed, biblically grounded, holistic approach to counseling.
My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space that offers safety for clients to experience healing and growth as they share their story. |

I take a collaborative approach, coming alongside each client to pursue goals for therapy. Drawn to narrative therapy, I enjoy hearing people’s stories--where they get stuck and where they find joy. Exploring life’s pains, hopes, and dreams, we discover together where their story lines up with the grand narrative of Scripture. My hope is that by entering the difficult places, my clients will know themselves more fully and God’s love more deeply.
I have received training in art and trauma healing, and I look forward to integrating expressive arts with clients who desire it or find it difficult to express their experiences with words. As an intern, I will expand my skills by pursuing certification in trauma-informed expressive arts therapy, and EMDR.
I hold advanced certification in Biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling Education Foundation (CCEF), and I’m an active member of the Christian Trauma Healing Network (CTHN) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
For fun, I enjoy creating mixed media art, attending marching band competitions, and spending time hiking and camping with my husband and our two teenage boys. Together with my family, I am an active member of Denton Presbyterian Church, PCA.
