Bonny Pierce, M.Ed, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Certified Biblical Counselor, Supervised by Beth Broom LPC-S
When I was 16, I had the opportunity to visit an orphanage in Thailand. There I saw many young children who had nothing and no one to meet their needs. This experience sparked my passion to help children.
Fast forward many years, my desire to help children, first led me to the field of teaching. As a professional educator, I encountered many children, carrying emotional pain, who have had to face trials that I could never imagine. My heart ached for these kids and I knew I needed to do more. I went back to school and received a master’s degree from the University of North Texas in counseling, with an emphasis in school counseling and specialized training in play therapy. Since then, I have had the opportunity to continue training and become specialized and certified in several different areas which include:
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
Anxiety and Stress Management Specialist
Grief and Loss Specialist
Trauma and Crisis Specialist
Certified AutPlay Specialist
Biblical Counseling
It is my desire to create a unique environment where kids can feel safe, secure, and loved while they work through their heartaches. Not only do I hope for healing for your child, but also for the whole family. I am passionate about listening to, emphasizing with, encouraging, and counseling parents. With three children of my own, I know how hard parenting can be!
A little bit about myself: I have been married for almost 15 years. I homeschool my three children. In my free time, I love camping, hiking, long walks and playing with my kids. I also enjoy fun cozy mysteries, “Friday Night Family Night” either with a movie or board game and almost always with pizza and ice cream.
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” — Fred Rogers, television personality
