There are a lot of transitions that happen within the life of a young adult, from physical to emotional and mental development. Because of the amount of transition that occurs, a young adult may easily feel overwhelmed and as if they cannot get the hang of the new responsibilities. And the feeling of being overwhelmed along with the rapid changes in your biological, social, and psychological development may bring you to feeling depressed and anxious. We classify our young adults being between the ages of 16-28. We understand that this may be a time where you start asking questions such as, “what do I do after high school, my friends are moving out of their parents house, but I do not feel ready so how do I navigate this?” Here at Joyful Restoration, Young Adult counseling can provide you with a safe space to ask those questions and receive guidance and clarity. Every single individual develops differently and handles things differently. Talking through the difficulties of your transitions will allow us to help you with finding solutions and healthy coping mechanisms. The process of therapy will allow you to realize what you value in life so that the path you want to take may become clearer. You will discover your true identity so that you may feel more prepared and confident in the many decisions that you are going to have to make. This is also a time where we may confront any painful experiences or memories and guide you into healing from them, so that you can move forward. We know that culture and society puts a lot of pressure on young adults, but you are not alone in your emotions. We strive to call out the gold in you, empower you, and strengthen you to overcome life’s greatest struggles.
