Support Groups
Support Groups can be a fun time to exercise new habits that you want to try out with your family, friends, or significant other. Here at Joyful Restoration we know that many times the problem is underlying or difficult to identify. We offer Support Groups to help with unresolved trauma, unconscious conflicts, and maladaptive relationship patterns. We also offer a special kind of group called, “psychodrama,” which is a form of therapy where the individual will act out an event or scenario that happened.
Sometimes in traditional therapy, it can be difficult to talk through some things. We use Support Groups to allow people to get in touch with their buried emotions and feel supported through it. It also creates a place for you to develop socialization and communication skills. Since it takes place with others, you can also develop your own self-awareness as you listen in on the other individuals who share their struggles.
Listening to other individuals who have gone through the same, or close to the same thing, can allow you to gain insight into your situation, and affirm you in knowing that you are not alone. It is possible where you can hear how others may have solved a problem or coped with an issue in a healthy manner, in order to possibly gain a solution or healthy coping method for yourself. Having this experience can minimize any feelings of isolation that you may be experiencing, it helps you to learn and process new skills, and it normalizes the experience that you have faced. We truly believe that change happens when you have a community who encourages you and relates to you. If you would like to join one of our Support Groups, please fill out the form now to get in touch with us! |
