Susan Weimer - Licensed Professional Counselor

As a non-judgmental therapist, my clients have told me that I am a caring, easy to talk to, warm, and direct counselor. It is important to me to hear my client’s heart and work to understand the issues that are causing the pain and stress that has brought them to seek counseling. It is essential that every client I work with feels safe, accepted, and heard. Using my therapeutic skills, I help my clients to realize how they arrived at their current position in life, help them to find possible solutions and then teach the tools to make empowering choices that will change their life. My approach to therapy is from a Christian perspective that comes from my intimate relationship with Father God, Jesus Christ, and His Holy Spirit.
I have experienced first-hand the transformational power of God’s healing in my own life and seen many miracles in the lives of others. I have had the privilege to learn of Him, come to know and believe in Him, and receive forgiveness and new life in Him. While it is my belief that “there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved", I have also learned the power and humility of grace through my own desperate need for it. Jesus has healed me of the destructive choices I made in my past, taken the pain that those choices caused me to suffer, and has replaced the pain with His love and His joy. It is my hope that you will trust me to walk with you on a similar healing journey.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Athens State University while serving my country in the United States Army and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Because I am a Veteran of the United States Army and have special knowledge of those having to make readjustments in their lives due to what the US Service demands, I have been successful in working with service members, veterans, and their families. It is because of my own service that I understand the unique stressors and issues specific to one who is serving or has served their country.
“You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”—C. S. Lewis
