Why should I get adjusted during pregnancy?
During pregnancy the abdomen enlarges to accommodate your growing baby. As a result, your body responds by shifting its posture to maintain a center of gravity, which puts extra pressure and stress on your muscles and joints. This often results in low back pain, headaches, neck pain and other types of pain. Specific Chiropractic care is very gentle and an effective way to treat these symptoms. While these pains during pregnancy are very common, they are not normal!
Our goal is to allow new and experienced mothers to be comfortable within their rapidly changing bodies.
Getting adjusted during pregnancy helps:
- Improve nervous system function
- Balances pelvic bones, muscles and ligaments
- Allows for a better pregnancy and birth by normalizing maternal physiology
Why should I see a Webster Certified Chiropractor?
The Webster Technique is a specific Chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces nerve system stress, balances pelvic muscles and ligaments and optimizes the mothers pelvic function during pregnancy and birth. The Webster Technique has helped countless women avoid unnecessary interventions during birth by properly preparing the mothers body. While seeing any Chiropractor during pregnancy is definitely beneficial, I recommend finding a Webster Certified Chiropractor as they have been specifically trained to help you and your body adapt throughout pregnancy. Dr. Jaylee is Webster Certified and has additional training treating women throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
Is Chiropractic care during pregnancy safe?
Yes! Chiropractic care during pregnancy is very gentle and effective during pregnancy. Specific adjustments improve the balance and alignment of the spine and pelvis, providing for a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery.
Should I stop getting adjusted after I give birth?
Just as pregnancy caused many new changes within the body, postpartum comes with its own set of new challenges and physical demands. Some of these being breastfeeding, holding your new baby, carrying a car seat, hormonal changes and many more. Chiropractic care can help your body adapt to these new stressors and thrive in this new chapter of life!
Should my baby get adjusted after birth?
We highly recommend it! Even with the quickest/smoothest deliveries, babies experience some amount of trauma during birth. For more information go to the pediatrics tab! ☺
We look forward to helping you enjoy a healthier pregnancy!
